Shelby County Community Services Agency will screen for applicants for two programs
Starting May 2, Shelby County Community Services Agency (CSA) will be visiting MLGW Community Offices to screen and approve applicants for two low-income utility assistance programs. CSA will visit MLGW Community Offices on a rotating schedule, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., until utility assistance funds are depleted.
The schedule is as follows:
- Monday- Downtown Community Office, 245 South Main Street
- Tuesday – North Community Office, 2424 Summer Avenue
- Wednesday - Whitehaven Community Office, 1111 East Shelby Drive
- Thursday – South Community Office, 2935 Lamar Avenue
CSA will be screening for two programs: Energy Assistance Program and the Energy Crisis Program. Applicants must meet the 150 percent Federal Poverty Guidelines and have an active utility account. Also, applicants can not have received funds from CSA since October 15, 2015; the average assistance is $350-600.
