(June 19, 2023, 11 a.m.) – Memphis Light, Gas and Water crews continue to make progress restoring power. Twelve outside contract crews will supplement our efforts today.
Overnight storms impacted an additional 4,200 customers bringing the total impacted Sunday to 48,000. As of 9 a.m. Monday, there are about 9,000 customers without power and 38,000 have been restored. As storm restoration continues, work becomes more complex and takes more time. Damage is widespread and has caused a lot of isolated outages that will be time consuming to repair.
MLGW expects the majority of customers to have power by Tuesday evening and full restoration is expected by Wednesday night to customers who can take power.
MLGW crews are working as quickly as they safely can. Please always call 528-4465 to report emergencies like downed power lines and gas leaks. MLGW asks customers to stay away from downed powerlines. They could still be energized and deadly.
Use your MLGW My Account or call 544-6500 to report outages. Please report your outage each time – never assume we are already aware of it. Outage texts are disabled temporarily to avoid false restoration messages as circuits, transformers and system repairs are made. Customers may still have an outage at their home after distribution equipment repairs and that’s why MLGW urges repeat outage reporting.MLGW customers can report power outages and check the status of their outage through My Account or by calling the automated outage number: 544-6500. Customers can also check the online outage map: mlgw.com/outagecenter.
