September 9, 2020
Customers should call 901-544-6549 if needing assistance
On September 9, 2020, MLGW will perform routine maintenance at four locations in the areas of Seward Gate Station (1303 Seward Rd), Collierville Gate Station (791 S. Mount Pleasant), Airways Gate Station (5539 Airways Blvd) and Weaver Gate Station (5382 Weaver Rd).
This planned work will require natural gas to be vented into the atmosphere beginning at 8 a.m. and could last throughout the day.
The public in the surrounding areas may smell mercaptan in the air. This is the chemical odorant that MLGW adds to the natural gas to give it the rotten egg/sulfur smell so it can be easily detected.
Depending on the wind/weather conditions, residents and businesses in various areas could smell this strong, sulfuric odor.
