Alex Smith is the chief human resources officer for the City of Memphis, reporting directly to Mayor Jim Strickland. She is the architect of the City’s updated talent management, training, labor relations, employee engagement, wellness, compensation, benefits, diversity and safety initiatives.

Jenny Thomas has been a recruiter in Memphis for nine years and the senior recruiter at Buckman for just over a year. She is originally from Little Rock and has lived in the City of Memphis since 2011.
