Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) is excited to announce a modern way to participate in its public auctions of end-of-life vehicles and equipment. Starting in 2025, all auctions will occur exclusively online through a partnership with JJ Kane, utilizing ProxiBid as the third-party platform for online transactions. This collaboration provides a streamlined, accessible, and convenient platform for bidders.

The inaugural online auction will open for inspection on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and go live for bidding on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

What to Expect

Online Platform: Auctions will be hosted on ProxiBid, an online platform that MLGW and JJ Kane are utilizing for transactions. Participants can sign up for free and browse listings from the comfort of their own homes.

Vehicle and Equipment Listings: Detailed listings, including up to 50 photos per item, will be available seven days before the auction begins.

Inspection Appointments: Bidders may schedule appointments to inspect vehicles and equipment in person at MLGW’s holding yard at 4225 Getwell Rd.

Auction Schedule:

Central Region: Auctions will occur on each month's first Tuesday and Wednesday, beginning on February 4-5, 2025.

Southeast Region: Auctions will occur on the fourth Tuesday and Wednesday of each month, beginning January 28-29, 2025.

Seller’s Fees and Buyer’s Premium

A total of 12% in fees will apply to each transaction:

· 10% Seller’s Fee

· 2% Buyer’s Premium

These vendor fees pay for the convenient online bidding process and MLGW doesn’t receive any fee revenue.

Seamless Payouts and Delivery

Winning bidders will receive payout instructions immediately following the auction. Payments can be made via check (delivered through UPS) or ACH transfer, with payouts processed within 10 business days.
