Memphis Light, Gas and Water will host a no-cost webinar Thursday, October 27, at 4 p.m. about smart homes, how they help reduce costs, and how to get involved. Customers who register at https://mlgwneighborhoods.eventbrite.com will receive a Zoom link to the webinar.
Smart homes allow homeowners to control appliances, thermostats, lights, and other devices with their smartphones or tablets. Guest experts will discuss energy efficiency programs, smart communities, assistance programs, and more. Shana L. Woods, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Energy Services Consultant, and Dana Sjostrom, Planning and Programs Manager, Department of Housing, Division of Planning and Development, will join the webinar on Thursday.
Shana Woods supports the local power companies in TVA’s western district by delivering residential, business, and industry programs for EnergyRight. She also helps with specific initiatives about weatherization and energy burden.
In Dana Sjostrom’s current role as Planning and Programs Manager for Memphis-Shelby County’s Division of Planning and Development, Department of Housing, she incorporates sustainable and science-based approaches into federal grant program management
