MLGW News Release

MLGW Student Poster Contest deadline is Friday, Nov. 20, 2020
November 6, 2020
The Memphis Light, Gas and Water Student Poster Contest ends in two weeks. The utility’s annual Student Poster Contest for Shelby County school children in grades K-12 focuses on Internet safety, a particularly important subject with many students learning remotely from home during this pandemic. The deadline for entries is November 20 at 4 p.m.

Art entries will be judged on their ability to clearly and creatively communicate the theme, “Internet Safety: The Power Bytes – Making the Internet Safe One Byte at a Time.” Artwork created on computer is eligible this year along with traditional art on paper or other mediums.

Artwork can be sent or brought in to the Children’s Museum of Memphis. Due to remote learning and virtual classrooms, artwork can also be submitted by email at mlgwcsr@mlgw.org. Please visit mlgw.com/artcontest for specific information on the submission process.

Each category winner and each winner’s teacher will receive awards worth $125, along with additional recognition. All children in grades K-12, attending ANY Shelby County school or home schooling, are eligible.

The deadline for MLGW’s Student Poster Contest is 4 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2020. For details, general rules, specific art form rules, important info on the submission process, judging and awards, please visit mlgw.com/artcontest.
