Be on alert for criminals disguised as essential workers
May 2, 2020
Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division warns customers about thieves and other criminals disguising themselves as essential workers in order to gain access to homes and walk around neighborhoods undetected.

MLGW employees conducting utility business will always have identification with them. Customers should never allow someone without proper ID into their home or onto their property. Customers can also call 544-6549 and verify the utility is doing work that would impact the customer’s address.

MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 429,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County.
