Today, all services were scheduled to be disconnected at the Leahy Mobile Home Park, 3070 Summer, due to non-payment. However, due to the forecast heat index of 100 degrees MLGW did not disconnect residential services or cut off other services that impact residential customers.
This evening, the Leahy Mobile Home Park was inadvertently turned off for about three hours. Their services have been restored. "MLGW is extremely sorry that this error occurred," stated MLGW President and CEO Jerry Collins Jr. "We are investigating this matter to see how this happened."
Representatives from MLGW, City of Memphis, Latino Memphis, MIFA and others, have been working together to determine what kind of assistance could be provided to the residents.
MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 420,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County with some of the lowest combined rates in the nation.
