Gas Odor in the Air at Two Locations on Tuesday, July 21
July 20, 2020
Routine maintenance near Ridgeway north of Bill Morris Parkway and Outland north of Raines
MLGW will perform routine maintenance at two locations Tuesday, July 21 – Ridgeway, north of Bill Morris Parkway, and Outland, north of Raines. Work will begin around 8 a.m. and last for four hours.
The public in the surrounding areas may smell mercaptan in the air. This is the chemical odorant that MLGW adds to the natural gas to give it the rotten egg/sulfur smell so it can be easily detected.
Depending on the wind/weather conditions, residents and businesses in various areas could smell this strong, sulfuric odor.
