MLGW’s systems for power, water and natural gas are responding well to frigid temperatures. There has been no impact to our customers.

Energy demand on Tuesday should be slightly less than it was Monday morning. The demand for energy will likely peak Wednesday morning across the Tennessee Valley. Wednesday’s peak is likely to exceed TVA’s all-time peak energy demand of more than 34,000 megawatts in January last year. The TVA system is well positioned to meet peak demand and the system is continually monitored for any changes.

Commercial and industrial customers who participate in the TVA and MLGW Demand Response programs will be called upon to help reduce overall demand. TVA asks customers to take voluntary conservation efforts during peak times, 5 – 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Voluntary conservation tips include turning your home’s thermostat down to 68° or less, unplugging electric vehicles, unplugging space heaters, and postponing the use of large appliances like clothes dryers and dishwashers.
