AABE presents - Energy Matters Forum: For Our Children's Children July 18
July 17, 2019
Decisions made on the other side of the world affect the people of Memphis today and will affect future generations. Learn how and what you can do to ensure a better future for our children and our children's children at the American Association of Blacks in Energy’s (AABE) "Energy Matters Forum: For Our Children's Children." The forum will be held on Thursday, July 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Southwest Tennessee Community College, 737 Union Ave. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required at aabe-tn.ticketleap.com/energymatters2019/details.

Guest speakers include:
  • Raumesh Akbari | Tennessee State Senator—Akbari is a member of the Tennessee Senate for the 29th district since 2019. She formerly was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives for the 91st district.
     
  • Dr. Nabil Bayakly | Adjunct Professor, University of Memphis | Biological Courses Coordinator, Lemoyne Owen College—Bayakly has published numerous scientific, religious and sociopolitical papers and has been a guest speaker on Islamic and Middle East issues at many prestigious institutions, including Sewanee, Rhodes and Columbia.
     
  • Brenda Brickhouse | Tennessee Valley Authority VP, Environment Energy Policy and Chief Sustainability Officer—Brickhouse is responsible for TVA’s environmental management
