Customers may see fluctuating outage numbers throughout the day
(December 12, 2021, 12 p.m.) - MLGW is on day two of its restoration efforts after intense storms rolled through the Mid-South on Friday evening. Today customers may see fluctuating outage numbers as crews work safely to restore power to those without power from the storm.
The utility has restored service to more than 45,000 of the 54,518 customers without power. Approximately 9,300 from the original outage are still without power.
Currently, 52 MLGW crews are working to restore power. Nine outside crews are also assisting with restoration efforts.
The estimated time for complete restoration due to this storm is midnight on Monday, December 13, 2021.
Customers still without service should report their outage to MLGW’s outage hotline at 544-6500.
To report an emergency such as downed wires or gas leaks, please call 528-4465. This number should be treated like 911 and only used for these types of emergencies.
MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 437,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County.
