Memphis Light, Gas and Water’s meter readers will visit about 4,200 homes in Cordova this Saturday, December 7.
Meter readings are typically done on weekdays, but MLGW occasionally schedules Saturday readings to prevent extended billing cycles. The 4,200 Cordova customers with analog (non-smart) meters can expect to see meter readers on Dec. 7. For accurate readings and to avoid estimated bills, make sure our meter readers have clear access to your meters. If a meter is behind a locked gate, please unlock it and secure any pets during this time.
Authorized meter readers will always carry MLGW badges to identify themselves as utility employees.
With a smart meter, you won’t need to worry about extended billing cycles as usage data is transmitted to MLGW daily, eliminating the need for manual meter readings.
If you would like a smart meter installed to avoid the inconvenience of unlocking your gate or securing your pets, contact the Customer Care Center at 901-544-6549.
