Check out MLGW’s Utility Assistance One Stop on Saturday, August 21 at Gethsemane Garden Church of God in Christ, 1740 Vollintine Ave.
The drive-thru event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. MLGW customers can apply to receive up to $650 in utility assistance. The first 200 completed applications come with a bonus of a gift card provided by the Shelby County Community Services Agency. Volunteers also will hand out weatherization kits as well as boxes with a two-week supply of food while supplies last.
Applicants must meet the Federal Poverty Guidelines to qualify. Bring your valid driver’s license or state issued ID, Social Security cards for all household members and income documentation for the last 30 days for every adult in the household. For more details, go to mlgw.com/utility assistance.
