Gas Odor in the Air at Brooks Road and Graves Road

Routine maintenance on August 14 to last one hour
MLGW will perform routine maintenance on a gas main in the area of Brooks Road and Graves Road on August 14, 2020. This planned work will require natural gas to be vented into the air for one hour beginning at 7:30 a.m.
The public in the surrounding areas may smell mercaptan in the air. This is the chemical odorant that MLGW adds to the natural gas to give it the rotten egg/sulfur smell so it can be easily detected.
Depending on the wind/weather conditions, residents and businesses in various areas could smell this strong, sulfuric odor.
