Recognized for her outstanding excellence and dedication to the profession, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Lashell Vaughn, is this year’s honoree of the “VIP Woman of the Year” award by The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW).
With more than 600,000 members, NAPW boasts nearly 300 local chapters and provides an exclusive, highly advanced networking forum to successful women executives, professional and entrepreneurs, where they can aspire, connect and achieve.
“I was very honored to receive the recognition” says Vaughn, “I am always interested in providing the best service possible to the Memphis community, and for this reason I was delighted to receive such an honor.”
Vaughn, who joined Memphis Light, Gas and Water in 2011, has more than 21 years of experience in Information Technology, including client management, application development, data center operation, network and telecommunication, and security and compliance.
Her various achievements include serving on the Dean's Advisory Council for the Mississippi State University Bagley College of Engineering, as well as the Advisory Council Board for Girl Scouts Heart of the South. In addition, she is the former Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Porter Leath Children's Center. She is a member of the Institute of Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
