MLGW honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with community service
January 15, 2020
Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division employees are participating in the MLK Days of Service 2020 by serving from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, January 17, 2020 in the neighborhood surrounding the Dave Wells Community Center, 915 Chelsea Ave.

Employee volunteers will work in groups. Some will go door-to-door delivering energy efficiency kits to customers. Other volunteers will focus on clean up near the community center.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. inspired day of service is one of several community outreach events Division employees will take on in 2020. MLGW employee volunteers logged more than 2,900 volunteer hours in the community in 2019.

MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 429,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County.
