MLGW will perform routine gas maintenance near the intersection of Pleasant Hill and East Holmes Road on Thursday, December 7.
An odor of gas will be in the air as part of this work.
This routine work should start around 8 a.m. and could continue up to 2 p.m.
The public in the surrounding area may smell mercaptan in the air. Mercaptan is the chemical odorant that MLGW adds to natural gas to give it the rotten egg/sulfur smell so it can be easily detected. Depending on the wind/weather conditions, residents and businesses in the vicinity could smell this strong, sulfuric odor during the morning.
