MLGW's 4th Annual Art Poster Contest
April 18, 2012

Memphis Light, Gas and Water recently awarded top prizes for the MLGW 4th Annual Art Poster Contest for Memphis and Shelby County students. The contest is open to students in grades K-12 in both city and county schools; the goal is to give students the opportunity to learn and share ideas about saving energy.

The contest was judged in three categories:

  1. Elementary school (grades K-5)
  2. Middle school (grades 6-8)
  3. High school (grades 9-12)

All entries were judged on their ability to clearly and creatively communicate the theme "Saving Energy."

This year's contest had 160 entries from elementary, middle and high schools throughout Memphis and Shelby County. All students were eligible to compete from public, private, charter, parochial and home-schools. The winning students each received a $125 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble with their teachers winning a $125 gift certificate to the Art Center.
