Memphis Light, Gas and Water is teaming up again with Special Olympics to host the annual MLGW/Special Olympics Sportsfest this Saturday, March 31, at 9 a.m., at St. George's School on Houston Levee Road. For nearly two decades, dozens of MLGW employees have volunteered their time each year to assist with the Special Olympics festivities in their ongoing efforts to support the growth and success of special kids.
The public is welcome and encouraged to come witness the tremendous athletic abilities demonstrated by children with disabilities in our community. The strength, endurance and skill of these special kids will be showcased in a variety of events including volleyball, power lifting, aquatics and other activities.
MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 420,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County with some of the lowest combined rates in the U.S.
