Due to extreme cold temperatures, MLGW President & CEO Jerry Collins Jr. has activated MLGW's Special Reconnect program.
Customers who are without utility services can pay $225 to have their services reconnected. The balance of the customers’ bills will be spread over six months.
Customers can visit any of MLGW's Community Offices, (except for the Whitehaven location which is closed due to renovations) to participate in this program. Community Offices are located at:
- Downtown Office, 245 South Main Street
- South Community Office, 2935 Lamar Avenue
- North Community Office, 2424 Summer Avenue
- Millington Community Office, 5131 Navy Road
Customer Care is also available at 544-6549. For safety purposes, any MLGW customer whose service has been disconnected for one year or longer, their home must pass Code inspection prior the Customer being considered for a Special Reconnect.
“This special reconnect initiative will continue through the end of next week, January 10, at which time we will reevaluate the situation," according to Collins Jr.
MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 429,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County.
