MLGW asks customers for feedback on minority business participation
March 30, 2023
Memphis Light, Gas and Water invites local business owners to give their feedback about working with the utility at one-of-two virtual public hearings scheduled for Wednesday, April 5 at 5:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 6 at noon. Public policy consultants Griffin & Strong, P.C. are conducting the Disparity Study to determine whether there is a significant, statistical difference between the availability of qualified, willing and able minority and women owned firms and the utilization of such businesses by MLGW. Customers able to participate must register for the Zoom meetings: Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the hearing. The Disparity Study will gather information necessary to determine whether all qualified firms have the maximum practicable opportunity to compete for and participate in MLGW’s procurement of prime contracts and associated subcontracts and, if indicated by the evidence, will support the use of strategies to ensure such opportunities.

All comments will be recorded and may be used as anecdotal evidence for the Disparity Study. Visit MLGWDisparityStudy.com for more information. Email questions and concerns to supplierdiversity@mlgw.org.

MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 440,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County.
